Let’s Get Educated: Education Awards Ceremony Tonight!

I hope you had just as much fun at Opening Night as I did—everyone truly sparkled. I want to thank our honorees: Jonna Mendez, Tetiana Mouzi, Jack Bowman, and David Rencher for making the night truly memorable. Their works encompass the DAR’s values of service and patriotism.

A special thanks to Jillian Pirtle for her performance and the work she is doing to preserve and restore the Marian Anderson Museum. I hope you enjoyed learning about her work and dedication to the home of Marian Anderson. I am so glad we are able to support the restoration of this national landmark. I am so thrilled to have one of Marian Anderson’s gowns on display, please stop by this week and see it. I was also impressed with everyone's dedication to service. This evening we will celebrate accomplished young people during our Education Awards Night Ceremony. We’ll get to hear portions of the winners’ essays as well as recognize the Outstanding Teacher of American History. After we honor the winners, the All-American DAR Chorus will entertain us with a musical performance. The ceremony will conclude with presentations of the finalists for the Outstanding Junior Member contest. The best of luck to all of those accomplished women!
