Your Moment in the Sun – Send us your DAR Photos!

Denise Doring VanBuren, President General

It is so exciting that the 131st Continental Congress is now less than two months away! We are busy inviting speakers and award winners, readying our headquarters and attending to hundreds of details to welcome you home in grand style after three long years away from 1776 D Street.

There’s also a chance for you to play a starring role! We’re producing several videos for Continental Congress, but we need your photos to help us illustrate the vibrancy of all that DAR has accomplished during the last year. Do you have compelling images of the following?

Your Family Members in Military Uniform

We welcome pictures of your family members in service to our nation! We want to highlight the sacrifice of your immediate and extended family for this project that will honor active duty service personnel and veterans. Both historical photos and contemporary images are encouraged.  Please include the name, rank and service information if known.

Service to America Projects

Send us images of your Service to America volunteer initiatives! These can be chapter or community projects; they can also depict your own personal service work. Did your chapter complete a National DAR Day of Service project? Have you completed an exciting historic project in your community? Helped students? Dedicated a Never Forget Garden or planted a pollinator garden? We want to see them all!  Help us illustrate the vast array of volunteer involvement completed in communities coast to coast --  send us photos of you and your chapter members in action!

Chapter and Member Activities

Now that we’ve returned to in-person meetings and events, we want to show off your beautiful smiles. Send us images that show your DAR friendships and service. In particular, we seek more casual and/or action photos (rather than formal group photos from state conferences or other posed photos). Show us variety and diversity in your chapter activities! What picture captures the spirit and fun of your chapter? We want to use it to illustrate our shared commitment to our beloved National Society.

Please know that any photos submitted will be used for promotional purposes. Please also be aware that because we need to project these images, they must be of acceptable quality. They should be properly composed and of high resolution; make sure that any photo you submit is clear, well-lit and compelling. We cannot use any photo that is grainy or pixilated.
